Jackie Alpers is an award winning fine art photographer whose images are also used in commissioned advertising campaigns, magazine articles and book cover illustrations. Her moody, autobiographical images document the rituals and roles that surround gender, family, food and sex.
Clients include Random House, Simon and Schuster, American Airlines, Canyon Ranch, The Sci-Fi Chanel, Mad Magazine, T.V. Guide Interactive, Epicurious.com, Saatchi & Saatchi, Southwest Airlines Spirit Magazine, U.S. News and World Report, Phoenix Home & Garden Magazine and Glamour.
She was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1968 and received her BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 1991. After receiving her degree, Jackie relocated to Tucson, Arizona where she was employed as part of the groundbreaking Swanstock Agency's creative team. During her tenure at Swanstock, she worked alongside the world's top fine art photographers, as well as the most respected photography editors and art directors, gaining extensive experience working with clients from concept through publication. She continues to work as a creative partner with her clients, helping them find extraordinary solutions to their photographic needs.
In addition to winning two honorable mentions for portraiture in the 2007 International Photography Awards, she is a Black and White Spider Award winner for fashion photography and a bronze medal winner of the London Photographic Award.
Her work has been showcased in: American Photography 23, HOW Design Magazine, PhotoReview Magazine, America 24/7, File Magazine and F- Stop Magazine. Her series Flesh & Bone is currently being exhibited at the International Museum of Women's Imagining Ourselves Exhibit.
She has taught Black and White and Color Photography at Pima College and The University of Arizona.
