5th year Trappings artist,  photographer Raechel Running images draw inspiration from a historic private game reserve in Sonora, Mexico.  From private ranches in the sierra to cattle ranches turned conservation reserves. Bison have a long history through the southern western grasslands.  These images celebrate the rich history, legacy and surrealism of the borderlands of Northern Mexico.

“The exhibition is about horse culture, but it isn’t just about cowboys and Indians, said Raechel Running, who has several inventive photographs in the show. “The vision is extraordinary and pushes all the boundaries. It’s a measure of what I strive for in my own work. If I hadn’t been involved with horse culture, I would probably have missed more than half of what my experience in Mexico has been.”

The Mona Lisa, Re-imagined by illustrator Giulio Iurissevich

“Giulio Iurissevich has been included in the upcoming book entitled “Mona Lisa Reimagined”. An anthology of hundreds of pieces of art inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s “La Gioconda”, otherwise more popularly known as “Mona Lisa”.

Although there are countless books written about the Mona Lisa, there has never been anything like this one before.”

Giulio Iurissevich created artwork for Radar, a new street fashion shop in the northeastern Italian city of Pordenone. Giulio worked on glass panels which were placed on the walls and he designed a line of exclusive tees for the shop opening,  which sells street labels like Insight, Vans, WeMoto, Furious, BoxFresh and Supremebeing.

These dresses where part of Angela’s University of Costa Rica graduation thesis project titled, “Desbordamiento” (Overflowing).
The following is the concept behind this project:
Clothes can become one of our closest possessions, both in the literal and the figurative sense. Clothing embraces and defines us, it helps us to communicate without uttering a word, but it can also limit and restrict our movements and our roles in society. This double-sided approach to the meaning of fashion drove the creation of these three artistic dresses. The leitmotiv was the idea of overflowing: fashion can become a rigid mold that sets boundaries for behavior, but people cannot be contained entirely in any of these molds and they simply spill out. The restrictive silhouettes in these dresses are won over by this overflowing of textures and volume, a representation of our inability to conform. These dresses aim to discover that the fashion system can be subverted to create meaningful and carefully handcrafted pieces, as unique and unrepeated as the people who may wear them.

Shot in 2004 with analog cameras, on location in San Jose, Costa Rica. The concept of this project was created in collaboration with Costarican designer Dunia Barley and musician Otto Cstro.  We wanted to show with both images and music the process that reflects how a dress is created, from inspiration  to the final creation.  The images  showed the inspiration, the design, construction and the final piece that was created.This project was titled “Codigovestimenta” and was presented as an installation on May 2004 at the Sophia Wanamaker Gallery, located in San Jose, Costa Rica.

"La Eñe and Quijote" is an illustration created for an educational book published by Atica House, in Brazil. There is a very heated debate in Spain about keeping using or not the letter ñ. For some people, this is a quixotic business.

Illustration created to promote a children coloring book commissioned by the Mars Society and Nasa. A scene of a possible daily life on Mars with a lot of things kids like: dogs, astronauts, vehicles, alien landscapes...

Illustration created for a Brazilian magazine called "Aventuras Na História" (Adventures Through History) that features an section called "Dito E Feito" (Said And Done) that tells a little bit about the origin of some expressions. In this case, Mano A Mano (which means "one vs. one") describes the match between two bullfighters taking turns to perform in front of the crowd in the arena.
