Brett Smith
Brett R. Smith was born in Phoenix, Arizona in the year of our Lord nineteen-hundred and seventy-six. A third generation Phoenician, and a descendant from a long line of independent building contractors, and architects, he believed in pursuing an art career from an early age. He spent a year growing up in northern California, and four years in Colorado only to return back to Phoenix in 1986 at the age of ten.

After graduating high school in 1995 he pursued a career in comic books working in-house for Chaos Comics as a full time colorist, and designer as well as attending a local community college studying fine art. Two years later he would attend the Art Institute of Phoenix and earn a Bachelors in Arts and Sciences in traditional and 3D animation. During this time he would also spend six months working for Rainbow Animation Studios as a storyboard, and concept artist and work on such projects as the Action Man TV series, as well as Hasbro and Atari's CD-Rom revamp of Missile Command.

After graduating in September of 2001, then began the restless wanderings of the freelance artist. Working on such projects for the LA Galaxy major league soccer team, as well as the Afroman Website for Universal Records, Brett began catering to the upper echelon of local advertising agencies such as Moses Anshell, and Cooley Advertising. Providing storyboards as well as conceptual art and illustration he has worked on such accounts as America West Airlines and Grand Canyon Rail. He also sub-contracts through Hi-Fi Colour Design studios providing digital color to such publishers as Marvel and Image Comics; and works on such titles as X-men, Thunderbolts, G.I. Joe, and Micronauts.

Brett Smith currently lives in a fortified compound near Phoenix.
